Learn to Cook Indonesian Food in a Home-Style Setting in Jakarta

We provide a home-style Indonesian cooking class where you can learn to cook Indonesian food in a relaxed and friendly setting. The class can be conducted in English or Indonesian, depending on your preference.
You can choose the dishes you would like to cook from our menu, and we will guide you through the ingredients and cooking process step by step.
This cooking class is suitable for foreign travelers and expatriates living in Jakarta. You don’t need to prepare anything. Just come ready to cook and enjoy Indonesian food!
About the Instructor
Our cooking class instructor has a background in Food & Beverage Services. She studied at a Vocational High School specializing in F&B Services and also had training experience at a 5–star hotel in Jakarta, in the pastry and bakery section.
She has also been teaching Indonesian to foreigners for many years and enjoys sharing Indonesian food and culture with her students.
What You’ll Cook
Each cooking class includes 2 dishes: 1 main course and 1 dessert or appetizer. You will prepare the dishes yourself with our guidance throughout the class. For private 1-on-1 classes, you may also get 1 additional snack as a bonus (such as bakwan or tempe goreng), depending on the availability of ingredients.
What’s Included
During the class, we will provide:
- All ingredients needed for the dishes
- Cooking equipment
- Indonesian snacks and fruits
- Mineral water
- Lunch/Dinner made from the dishes you have prepared
So you can simply come, cook, and enjoy the food without having to prepare anything beforehand.

Not sure what you’d like to cook? No problem! We have a variety of Indonesian dishes and traditional Indonesian sweets for you to choose from. You can let us know what kind of food you’re interested in, and we will send you our menu options.
If you already have a particular Indonesian dish in mind, you can also let us know and we can check if it is available for the class.
Duration
The cooking class usually takes around 3–6 hours, depending on the dishes you choose and the cooking process. We usually take our time during the class so you can enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. But if you’re in a hurry or have a limited amount of time, just let us know and we’ll adjust the pace accordingly.

Please let us know if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions when making your booking. This will help us choose suitable dishes and ingredients for your class.
A Taste of Indonesia You Can Take Home
Indonesian food is not just about the finished dish. During the class, you’ll also get to learn about the ingredients, spices, and cooking methods commonly used in Indonesian cooking.
It’s a simple and enjoyable way to experience Indonesian food and culture while you’re in Jakarta.
Price:
- USD 30/person — for 2 or more participants
- USD 50/session — private class for 1 person*
*The private class includes the same cooking experience, with 2 dishes and the possibility of an additional bonus snack depending on ingredient availability.
Booking & Payment
To confirm your booking, we require a 50% deposit in advance. The remaining balance can be paid on the day of the class.
Please make your booking at least 1 day in advance, as we need some time to prepare the ingredients before the class.
Payment can be made in USD or IDR via bank transfer, PayPal, or Wise.

We will be visiting Jakarta and stay in the Pullman Jakarta Indonesia Thamrin CBD hotel.
We would like to do a cooking lesson. The main thing we want to cook is Rendang but also some other things and we would like to visit a market.
